Respite

As well as our CHSP Respite Care service (for people eligible to receive HACC services) we offer other forms of respite to people throughout our region.

We can provide Flexible Respite for families and other unpaid carers of children, young people and adults with a disability. This type of respite is flexible because we know how important it is that the respite happens when you need it and in the way you need it. It might be a regular arrangement or a one-off occasion.

If you are aged 60 or over (or 45 or over if you are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person) and you are caring for your child who has a disability you may be eligible to use our Ageing Parent Carers Respite service. The respite may take place in your own home or out in the community - whatever you need.

We also provide short-term respite for carers of people with a disability aged under 65 (or under 50 for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people).
