Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) Services

Cooma Challenge Limited offers four different CHSP services and all four available for residents in Cooma-Monaro, Bombala and Snowy River Shires.

Respite Care provides short-term, time-limited breaks for carers of eligible people.

Social Support services assist to meet a person's need for social contact and connection and to enjoy inclusion in the community. It might be as simple as receiving a friendly visit at home, or it might be accompanying you on an excursion. It includes providing company for shopping, banking or attending an appointment or just having some fun, making the most of what our community has to offer. Find out more about Social Support.

Through Domestic Assistance our staff members can help you with domestic chores including cleaning, dish-washing, clothes-washing and ironing, shopping and bill-paying. We can even help with activities such as collecting firewood. This service can help you to stay in your own home and in a safe and healthy environment.

Through Personal Care our staff members can assist you with every-day "self-care" tasks so you can feel clean, healthy and well groomed. You might wish to receive assistance with mobility, with dressing, hair care and grooming. You might need supervision or assistance to shower or take medication or even to do exercises or therapy.

To be eligible for any of these supports you must be aged 65 or over (or 50 or over if you are an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person) and eligible to receive CHSP services.
